ROG MASTERS 2017- professional world-class tournament

This year, from June through November, a new and epic chapter in the ROG MASTERS journey plays out. In 2017 the cross-continent tournament will encompass more than 30 countries, bringing top-tier talent and renowned pro squads in CS:GO and Dota 2. The best teams will split the grand prize pool between them - $250,000 for each title.

Here we present the tournament overview. Boasting impressive geographical reach, the structure of this year’s iteration has changed to accommodate participation by both pro teams and aspiring gamers. Thus ROG MASTERS 2017 will roll through the world in four phases:

Phase 1: Open Qualifiers

From the USA to the Philippines, from Peru to Germany… beginning early June, a wave of open qualifiers will be held in more than 30 countries. Some of them online-only, but the majority will also feature offline events to determine the best teams without doubt. And to supplement the national contests, the APAC, EMEA, and Americas regions will each have their own online open qualifiers. This stage of the tournament is skipped by China.

Phase 2: Regional Qualifier

Here, the APAC region will host an offline qualifier while the EMEA and Americas regions will have a round of online qualifiers featuring only teams that found success in the Open Qualifiers of Phase 1 - this is where the best from each region will be crowned. This stage of the tournament is skipped by China.

APAC (Asia-Pacific)

  • 12 community teams per game title
  • 1 winner advances to Phase 3: Regional Finals

EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa)

Phase 3: Regional Finals

In Phase 3, each of the four regions get their own massive offline event. Here we will see the community champions, fresh from their hard victory in the Regional Qualifiers, pitted against their rivals - professional teams invited directly to the Regional Finals. With a formidable $500,000 prize pool to be split across the tournament, Phase 3 is sure to attract the most prominent names from within the Dota 2 and CS:GO scenes. A guarantee, in other words, of an action-packed and glorious contest!

APAC (Asia-Pacific)

  • 8 teams per game title (7 invited professional teams + 1 Regional Qualifier winner)
  • 2 teams per game title advance to Grand Finals

EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa)

(China only)

Phase 4: Grand Finals

The grand apex will come about in November: the best of the best CS:GO and Dota 2 teams going head to head at the Grand Finals. There will be 6 teams participating per game title (APAC 2 teams, EMEA 2 teams, AMERICAS 1 team, CHINA 1 team), with the tournament structure the same for both CS:GO and Dota 2.
